Teacher Kim, Director
Kim has owned and directed Rainbow Family Childcare since 1985. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, emphasis in Child Development, and a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education, both from SFSU. In addition to teaching the children at Rainbow, she has lectured in Child Development at SFSU since 2006.
Teacher Gladys, Assistant Teacher
Gladys holds a Bachelor of Arts in Child and Adolescent Development, with an emphasis in Special Education, from SFSU. She has worked in both large and small childcare centers serving children of all ages. Gladys has a passion and a talent for photography.
Teacher Hilary, Assistant Teacher
Hilary implements our art program and nature exploration. Hilary holds a Masters of Fine Arts from SFAI, and has worked in Reggio inspired outdoor preschools. She has taught art and painting to children through Little Rembrandts and has provided art therapy to developmentally challenged adults. Hilary is a recognized artist who often shows her work.
Teacher Annina, Assistant Teacher
Annina holds a Masters in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in child development. She has been a teacher at Rainbow since 2009. She has worked with children and families for over 10 years. Annina enjoys long hikes with her dog Rory.
Gardener Joanna has been sharing her love of gardening with Rainbow since 2013. She is involved with organizations throughout the Bay Area including the Please Touch Community Garden and Natural Builder promoting urban agriculture. She also served as a field guide at a Wildlife Center for many years. She now joins us twice a month to help care for our Rainbow Garden and teach children how to plant and harvest their very own organic garden.
Robin Imholte is the founder of Hands on Parenting LLC and the creator of Messy Play Kits. She has degrees in child development and psychology from the University of California at Davis. Robin taught preschool for two years in a demonstration site for best practices for the state of California while concurrently mentoring undergraduates in the field of Early Childhood Education. She left the classroom to start Messy Play Kits and share her love for and knowledge about sensory play with children and families in the Bay Area with classes and nationwide with kits. She is excited to be bringing sensory play to the children at Rainbow in monthly classes.
Teacher Ngan, Yoga Instructor
Ngan teaches a skills oriented dance and a yoga flow class at Rainbow. She is a classically trained dancer and holds multiple yoga certifications. She is the owner and director of Yoga Phamily Studio in San Francisco.
JamaRoo teachers specialize in developmentally appropriate dance and music classes for children. Children learn how to express themselves using various instruments, singing and dancing. JamaRoo Kids brings a fun and energetic atmosphere to our program.
