We believe that children excel when given the opportunity to experience and express themselves through the creative arts and outdoor exploration.
Our program blends supervised activities with self-initiated learning. Children choose from a variety of developmentally appropriate play options and participate in special interest classes.
We meet the special needs of toddlers through the use of small groups, where each child can receive individual attention.
Our weekly classes include
Culinary Arts with Teacher Kim. Children use organic and fresh products to make all sorts of delicious and homemade foods like zucchini bread, arugula pesto, and vegetable soup. A sample of our culinary creations go home with each child for parents to enjoy.
Gardening with Gardener Joanna. Children learn to care for our organic garden. Children plant, tend, and harvest many kinds of fruits and vegetables. Much of what we grow in our garden goes home with our families! We also use the fruits and vegetables for our culinary arts projects.
Dance with JamaRoo Kids. Our dance is skills directed and encourages creative self-expression. Children practice coordination, balance and flexibility while moving their bodies to a variety of music.
Music class is offered twice per week by JamaRoo Kids. Once class is literacy-based and combines stories, rhymes and word-play. The second class emphasizes rhythm, counting and numbers. Both classes develop humor through songs, enhancing memorization and awakening imagination. Children are introduced to a variety of instruments including tambourines, maracas, drums and many more!
Yoga with Teacher Ngan. Children learn various yoga poses that emphasize self-regulation, relaxation and motor skills development.
Once a month Robin Imholte, the creator of Messy Art Play Kits, brings sensory art and science classes to Rainbow. Her planned activities encourage creativity and the development of fine motor, cognitive and math skills as well as teaching children to work in groups.
Children also enjoy daily art activities led by Teacher Hilary using various mediums to create little masterpieces that go home with them at the end of the day.
